Mas Amedda is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe.
He served as vice-chair of the Galactic Senate during Finis Valorum's time in the office of Supreme Chancellor. He continued to hold this position under Palpatine. He was in the Senate when Palpatine declared the creation of the Galactic Empire and the end of the Jedi Order. He was also well aware of Palpatine's plot to execute Order 66 and wipe out the Jedi order. He used holographic transmissions to lure many Jedi to their death. He also kept the secret of Palpatine and Sidious being one and the same. In a scene near the finale of Episode III, he even refers to Sidious as his "master," which in its context, can mean that he was an associate of Sidious.
He appears in all of the prequels but is completely absent from the original trilogy.
[edit] Expanded Universe
Mas Amedda was a Chagrian from the planet Champala.
As Amedda does not appear in post-Revenge of the Sith Expanded Universe material, his fate is unknown. The Revenge of the Sith visual dictionary states that "Palpatine's duplicity could cost [Mas Amedda and Sly Moore] their positions - as well as their lives". `
[edit] Behind the Scenes
Amedda was played by Jerome Blake in The Phantom Menace and Revenge of the Sith, and David Bowers in Attack of the Clones.
