MAS 90

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sage MAS 90 is accounting software offered by Sage Software with over 20 separate software modules.

First offered in the early 1980's, it gained significant market share by using Certified Public Accountants (CPA's) as the initial resellers. As many CPAs became comfortable with the software, they increasingly recommended it to their clients who were looking for something more powerful than the rudimentary packages available at the time. Over time as technology became more complex and rules on independence stricter, CPAs gravitated away from reselling the software. Now Sage MAS 90 is primarily re-sold by a network of independent software consultants.

Targeting primarily the wholesale distribution industry, Sage MAS 90 has many enhancements making it suitable for other industries as well. An additional version of Sage MAS 90 is offered in a client-server environment running under Windows 200x operating systems. This version, Sage MAS 200, is functionally equivalent to the Sage MAS 90 product.

At present there are well over 20 separate software modules that comprise the Sage MAS 90 system. There are modules for light manufacturing and e-commerce; however, most of the continued development and enhancement to the software line is centered around the wholesale distribution and warehouse management niche.
