Image:Master Li high from falundafa org.jpg

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This image was uploaded under a fair use rationale, but may fail Wikipedia's first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a free image might reasonably be found or created that adequately provides the same information. If you believe that a free replacement image can not be reasonably found or created please add one of the following:

{{Replaceable fair use disputed | Your reason why a free replacement is not available}}

or

{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}

to this page and give the reasons for your dispute on the talk page.

If this image is determined to be replaceable within one week from 25 March 2007 (1 April), the image may be deleted by any administrator. Do not remove this tag.

After adding this tag, please notify the uploader with
{{subst:replaceable|Master Li high from falundafa org.jpg}} ~~~~
Also consider adding:
{{subst:refu-c}}
to the caption in article(s) the image is used to give a little advance warning that a free licensed replacement should be sought after. Adding {{reqphoto}}, or one of the more specific image request templates (listed on the reqphoto template page), to the article's talk page may also be helpful if there are no other images in the article already.

Tagger: If this image has, at the time of tagging, a rationale explaining why it is irreplaceable, please do not forget to explain on the talk page why you think that rationale is not valid. Tags applied in contravention of this requirement may be removed; if a rationale is added after the tagging, the normal process for disputing a tag should be followed.

Suggested deletion Summary:I7 Replaceable fair use image

This is actually no indication that this is free for any purpose with only attribution. It is a copyrighted image which is provided gratis for people to download and print. That is not the same as "free to redistribute, modify, and use commercially for any purpose". Thus this is actually being used here as "fair use", however, because Li Hongzhi is alive, it is replacable fair use and so violates Wikipedia:Fair use: "No free equivalent is available or could be created that would adequately give the same information". A free equivalent could be created. coelacan — 03:15, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

I don't think that this image is easily replaceable because, since all images with Mr. Li Hongzhi are from Minghui/ClearWisdom sites which will then fall under the gratis license category you mentioned. To go in and take a picture with his approval, would be hard (at least for me). Could you perhaps point out in this case where should we go and get some pictures which will be OK to use on Wikipedia?
Also based on this I have a request. Until there is no other picture of him which has the GFDL license, can we keep this one? After all it's Gratis, so wikipedia will surely not be sued over keeping it. --HappyInGeneral 11:27, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
Comment - The Japanese wiki page on Li has the same image from the same place and has it marked as released into the Public Domain.
Also - shouldn't all of this talk be on the image discussion page? --EarthPerson 16:14, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
Not a huge deal where the discussion goes, but I'll copy it over to the talk page anyway and reply there. coelacan — 00:40, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
Copyright This image is copyrighted; however, the copyright holder allows the image to be freely redistributed, modified, used commercially and for any other purpose, provided that their authorship is attributed.

According to http://falundafa.org/Photo.html anyone can print the picture, so it's free to show it. --62.231.110.18 23:27, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
