[edit] WP:WHMT

Hello. You may or may not remember this, but some time ago you signed up for a Hangman Tournament hosted here on Wikipedia.

For some reason or another, you were placed on the "potential players" list.

The next tournament is about to start, and I was just wondering if you were still interested in participating. If you are, please go to the page (linked above) and bold your name in the sign-up list. This will confirm your registration, and move you to the next slot on the waiting list. If you are not interested any more, please feel free to remove your name from the list. If you haven't responded within 7 days, I will assume you are not interested, and remove you from the list. However, if you are too busy, go to the page anyway and renew your "busy" notice. This shows that you are still interested in the tournament, but still are to busy to participate at this time.

If you think anyone else may be interested in this tournament, please drop them a note and ask them to sign up. Good luck, and I hope to see you at the tournament! If you have any questions, please contact me at my talk page. Ian Manka Talk to me! 13:56, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

To be honest, I don't know. It was there before I started to revitalize the page. I don't blame you for not knowing -- I think that was from May '05... so yeah. I think I left a message before last tournament, but I may be mistaken. Anyways, with such a high percentage of new users (half of the users I left a message at didn't have a welcome yet), you'll most likely play, should you choose to sign up. If you have any questions, please contact me at my talk page. Ian Manka Talk to me! 16:38, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Steveburns.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Steveburns.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Chowbok 18:34, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Philanthropist

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Philanthropist, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Philanthropist. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. — Sebastian (talk) 03:42, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

Hello, Martinman11. Over at WikiProject Harry Potter we're trying to compile a list of active participants. Your name, along with all other project participants, has been placed on the inactive list. If you'd like to get involved again, please place your name back on the active list, and take a look at the project talk page for the latest happenings.

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:The potters hp.JPG)

Thanks for uploading Image:The potters hp.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] Moreover

Try Wiktionary ˉˉanetode╦╩ 01:11, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

There's an explanation at WP:DICTDEF, which is basically a guide meant to discourage minor stubs on obvious words. Although articles on words that have had a significant impact on society (see truthiness), or possess a complicated etymology (see fuck), are generally acceptable. [edit] Across The Sky

I noticed that you were for the article deletion. Would you mind taking a look at the expanded (but still needing much clean up) version and see if this affects your opinion of notability ?
