[edit] Hiroshima / Nagasaki

Hi. May I ask why you removed this casualty estimate?

The invasions of the main Japanese Islands of Kyushu and Honshu, if they were proportionately as deadly as the invasion of tiny Okinawa, would have created 500,000 to 1,000,000 U.S. casualties and 5,000,000 to 10,000,000 Japanese battle casualties, with more dying from starvation and disease.

Was it because it was unsourced, or what? Uncle Ed 12:47, August 6, 2005 (UTC)

Because it was unrelated to the source, and seemed like an attempt to influence the reader of the righteousness of bombing Hiroshima as opposed to just displaying the list of sources. If anything, it should have gone in the section about the debate on the legitimacy of the bombing, but there are already casualty estimates there. --Martey 03:21, 7 August 2005 (UTC)

Sorry about that - it was a browser bug, not maliciousness. If you look at the content, you will notice that it was truncated at 4096 bytes. --Martey 00:40, 19 December 2005 (UTC)
