Thanks, I wasn't sure if I was citating too quickly (straight after the claim, instead of at the end of the sentence). e.g: "Opium poppy[1], ...[2], ...[3]." is what I did, but I wasn't sure if "Opium poppy, ..., ... [1][2][3]." would be better. --Mark PEA 14:30, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
Our problem is not a surfeit of citations but thousands and thousands of articles with nary a one. Another words don't worry about overcitation! Once an article becomes fleshed out, sometimes citations in the lead are dropped if they are just summarizing material expanded upon the the article body where the citations are moved to, but it's perfect to have them from the start.--Fuhghettaboutit 15:31, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Phorbol image

Hi Mark, I just noticed that Image:Tetradecanoylphorbol acetate.png appears to have a small error. The acetate portion has an OH where there should be a methyl group.

Thanks for your contributions to chemistry articles. And if you haven't see it already, feel free to participate at Wikipedia:WikiProject Chemistry and related projects. --Ed (Edgar181) 22:28, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

Ah yes, silly me, I've been drawing so many carboxylic acids lately it's turned into a bit of a habit to put -OH groups instead of -CH3 groups next to ketones. I'll update it right away. Mark PEA 22:54, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
Also, I think i've learned from now on that before I save a structure as a .png, to select it and do a formula analysis, to stop silly little errors like that one :) Mark PEA 23:04, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks!

Thanks for adding the info/graphic to the MCPP article! Miserlou 03:12, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] chemical structure

Hi Mark, i was just wondering how i can construct a chemical sstructure image on wikipedia. i mean, is there any programs or whatnot i need to download? thanx. Use the force 02:49, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

Hey, there are many molecule drawing software. I use ChemDraw although you have to buy it, there are many free one's too that are probably just as good. Check the Molecule editor wikipedia article, it has a list of some. --Mark PEA 10:14, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

Sweet,thanks! Use the force 15:12, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Meerkat Manor

Hey, thanks for adding the spoiler templates. I made a ton of edits to that page to clean it up over the last few days....but for some reason adding that kept slipping my mind. Thanks! NickBurns 00:22, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Mini 2cd.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Mini 2cd.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 13:09, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] upload from ChemDraw

Hello, Mark, its me again. I got chemdraw (for 2 weeks, anyway), and i was wondering how i get a finished chemical structure onto wikipedia. Use the force 23:12, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

Well, once you've drawn the image, you click File -> Save As... and I normally make it a .png file (e.g. caffeine.png), Then I go on to wikipedia, and on the left hand side of the page there is a link to Upload file, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Upload). At that page, you can upload images, but don't forget to put the copyright in (for your case, "I am the creator, and release this to the public domain" or maybe some GNU license, it's up to you really). --Mark PEA 23:44, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] addition of HOT compounds to 2C (psychedelics)

I'll take your word for it and remove the HOT componds, thaks for pointing that out Use the force 17:19, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Another conflict with HOT compounds...

I just noticed that my drawing of the chemical structure of HOT-2 is incorrect (theres a methyl group on the alpha carbon where there shouldnt be). since my two-week chemdraw trial has long expired, do you think you could redraw it for me? Use the force 17:41, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Done --Mark PEA 21:28, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks! Use the force 02:22, 15 March 2007 (UTC) Sorry to keep bothering you about this (as soon as weekends over i'll have chemdraw from my school) but for now do you think you could draw out 3C-BZ and MDPH for me as well? Use the force 00:53, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Sure -- I'm always happy to contribute to wikipedia, the 2 structures are here:

--Mark PEA 17:20, 16 March 2007 (UTC) One last pic... MDMC/EDMA? Use the force (Talk)

Thanks! Use the force (Talk)

Just one last one... CPM (cyclopropylmescaline) Use the force (Talk)

Done. It's working on the cyclopropylmescaline page already, I also added 2C-SE, and a mini for the 2C (psychedelics) page.

Thanks a lot! Use the force (Talk)

A few more images: TIM-2, TIM-3, and TIM-4. Use the force (Talk) 22:54, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 2 things

first: more pihkal images please (especially BOH, BOHD, and FLEA)

second: can you make 3-D ball-and-stick models for the pihkal compounds? Use the force (Talk * Contribs) 21:50, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

Well next week would be the best time to make the 3D images, and I'll try and make as many pihkal compounds as I can when I get some time. Also, I've done those 3 you mentioned. --Mark PEA 18:25, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
