[edit] Carmina Burana

Hello Mark, I'm glad you like separating out the pop culture stuff from the Carmina Burana article. I hope this idea won't seem too eccentric to you, but in fact I'm hoping that the Wikipedia will gradually evolve a parallel structure, each article about "X" being paired with an "X in Popular Culture" doppelgänger. Then, any editor who wants to tell us about the things he just saw on TV involving X can do so, but people seeking information about X won't have to view such entries unless they actually want to. Yours truly, Opus33 06:50, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

Sorry to butt in :-) but I entirely agree with this approach. I did the same for The Planets, and I've been battling pop culture trivia at Adagio for Strings. Best wishes, --RobertG ♬ talk 11:01, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] William Monahan article at FAC

Hello. I noticed that you reside in Massachusetts. I wonder if you would mind doing a review of my article on one of your fellow Bostonians, William Monahan? I'm running the article through WP:FAC and I'm trying to get as many opinions as I can. Your comments would be of great help. Perhaps you could even write up Monahan's early years in a more interesting way? I talk at length about his years in MA. Anyways, I'd be interested in what you think about the article.-BillDeanCarter 17:47, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the copyedit and the review. I may merge with another WikiProject down the line, or work alongside WikiProject Biography in some fashion. I'm not sure. I'm not even sure how many articles I want to write about screenwriters. I'll see about WikiProject Biography.-BillDeanCarter 21:43, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Missa Brevis (Britten)

Nice work! Good to see. I wish I had a recording of this piece ... Antandrus (talk) 05:35, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tables

Hi there! I did look over that section of the Help page, and tried to do what they were saying. I think the issue is that some of the boxes I am working with are hard-coded rather than just coming from some template somewhere. So I can't tell which bits of that code get included in the table definition and which don't. I suppose I'll just leave well enough alone for now. There actually are more important things I am supposed to be doing, like finding a job.

By the way, did you see that I uploaded scans of the Sea Symphony score? I am such a wimp that I am leaving the insertion of them to you...or someone who knows how to do that. Ciao! --Wspencer11 (talk to me...) 15:24, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Looks good to me--thanks! And that last chord is quite something, isn't it? It illuminates the text perfectly. --Wspencer11 (talk to me...) 02:29, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Shahbag - could you take a look?

I've just seen your comments on Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Rajshahi University. Will you you take a look at the article Shahbag? Ragib thinks it may deserve a FA drive. User:Rama's Arrow thinks it can be taken to FAC in a day or two. What can we do to improve it? Aditya Kabir 22:14, 15 March 2007 (UTC) - please, answer to my talk page

[edit] Session backlogs

are simply academic terms taking longer than they should, say a semester going on for 8 months. Any suggestions for clearer wording?--ppm 20:10, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Projects

Hello, and welcome back on-wiki, I guess :) For requested recordings, I agree, it is legally tricky. I believe that as long as you have a verbal agreement with your players that any recording will be released under a free license, that should be sufficient. Another issue is the scores you perform from, which should also be sufficiently free, in addition to the music itself. It's a bit tough to do :) Part of the idea behind the page was that if a good project was thought of, we could have a wiki-meet and all get together and record things for Wikipedia articles, but it needs to get to a certain critical mass first. I don't think I've heard the Duckworth piece, sounds interesting. I'm surprised we don't have an article on the Gregg Smith Singers, but I guess classical music coverage is still somewhat minimal here. Cheers, Mak (talk) 16:00, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Deleting Narciso Baldo entry

The reason for notable entry is that he is a up and coming impressive online poker player. Granted , yet to achieve great success in live play but is also my favorite online player. His alias is Neab on pokerstars and Narciso on Full tilt. I searched him on thepokerdb and he has something like $102k in tournament earnings on pokerstars which puts him in the elite of online players. Read his blog on texasholdem-poker.com and he is also a student in england. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Neab87 (talkcontribs) 00:31, 23 March 2007 (UTC).

[edit] D'molls

Why do you keep deleting my bio on D'Molls, I wrote the whole thing myself and I am the founder of the band... Lizzy Valentine... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Tiger lily 1974 (talkcontribs) 09:48, 23 March 2007 (UTC).

Hi there! Thanks for your question.
    • The text appeared to include parts copied from dmolls.
    • All articles must have a completely WP:NPOV neutral point of view.
    • In accordance with this, it's usually discouraged to write articles about anything you yourself are involved in because it constitues a conflict of interest.
There's some other issues as well, like formatting. Below, I've left a welcome message that includes several links that might be useful to learning about contributing to Wikipedia. If after reading the above articles on WP:NPOV and WP:COI, you think I've changed something I shouldn't have, feel free to change it back. Let me know if I haven't answered your questions!
