Welcome!

Hello, Marilyn Haight, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!  However, Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. [edit] Please stop adding links to your own site

Please read Wikipedia:External links. It is not appropriate to add links to your own web site. This is considered a kind of spamming. Thank you for your constructive contributions, however; I hope you will be able to use your expertise to improve articles without a Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming, and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising. Thanks. -Will Beback · · 23:35, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Reason for Added Link

There are four pages of free, helpful content for readers at bigbadboss.com--information that is based on original research and is specific and useful for academics and practitionsers. The site had been previously listed; I replaced it after seeing that it had been removed for no apparent reason. Would you prefer that I just have someone else put it back as others do?

Please see out guidelines on external links, WP:EL. If the material is well-researched and informative then the best outcome would be to include the information in the articles instead of just the links. -Will Beback · · 01:45, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
