[edit] Manchester City players

I started a discussion about this a while back (Talk:WikiProject Football). I think the section should definitely be for players who were notable for their time at the club, so Seaman would go on the list for Arsenal and Weah for AC Milan, but not City. You're probably right about Deyna. Paul Walsh should go too. Trevor Francis only played one season, but he was a big star at the time, so he may merit a place on the list.

Looking at the two club articles with featured status (Arsenal and IFK Gothenburg), one uses Famous Players and one Noted Players. I'm not sure what the best title would be. Oldelpaso 18:14, 3 January 2006 (UTC)

I think for the records I was going by what the book Manchester: The Greatest City used IIRC. Some sources would regard 11-3 as a bigger win than 10-1, some wouldn't. I have no objection to using either. Oldelpaso 18:33, 6 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia talk:Notability (people)#Regarding notability of Football (soccer) players

Hi, seeing you are interested in football this is an invitation to contribute to this discussion to clarify certain issues about football player notability. I think clearer guidelines are needed to avoid repeated inappropriate nominations for deletion and time consuming discussions. Cheers! StephP 20:18, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
