[edit] Parallelities

Nice start to the novel article. For suggestions have a look at the Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels/ArticleTemplate page for heading suggestions to add, also they might give some more ideas on what other things to look at adding to the article. I'll add the odd thing or too myself. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 09:54, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for responding to the article so quickly. I have added some new comments and requests to the article's talk page. marbeh raglaim 19:38, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

When I saw your user name in all lower case, it made no sense whatsoever at first, but after staring at it for a few seconds it "jumped" out at me. Not only did it jump out at me, but the exact source for it popped into my brain instantaneously. Is this a rather unusual physical attribute of yours or is there a story behind this? Alansohn 11:40, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

I have a phobia of centipedes. When I started using AOL back in 1996, I had to choose a screen name. I tried to choose chilopod, which means an animal from the class Chilopoda, comprising the centipedes. But someone had taken the name already. Since I didn't want to put a number into my name, I instead changed the spelling: from then on, my main Internet screen name was kylopod.

Eventually, I decided to make a second screen name for specifically Jewish discussions. I looked up "centipede" in a Hebrew dictionary, and it translated the word as marbeh raglaim. (The more common Israeli word is nadal.) Literally "numerous feet," the phrase is found in the Bible when referring to bugs in general. marbeh raglaim 12:25, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hello

User_talk:Jersey_Devil/Archive_3#Karwynn Look what I found. First you question my motives in John Kerry in an unrelated heading, and now you're going around drumming up support against my "trolling". If you have a problem with my editing processes or have a trolling accusation to bring up, you follow the right dispute resolution processes or you come to me about it. Going behind my back to spam for support against my edits is highly inappropriate. If your concerns are not important enough to bring up in an environment where I have the full opportunity to defend myself against your unwillingness to assume good faith per Wikipedia policy, they're not important enough for you to go dragging unrelated people into the matter without giving them a fair impression of the situation. If you're not interested in fair and equal discussion, keep your accusations of trolling to yourself. Psycho Master (Karwynn) 00:11, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

Please Vote, as per wiktionary the correct spelling is Wiktionary:anti-Semitic NOT Antisemitic. 70.49.85.238 20:51, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the link. I personally have always spelled it with a hyphen, though I have no problem with those people who spell it the other way. The original German word almost certainly did not have a hyphen, and the practice of spelling it non-hyphenated in English goes back a long way. I suspect that the ideological argument for avoiding making the "Semite" part seem distinct is a retroactive explanation. Like the term "Asian-American," "antisemite" has a certain PC flavor today but was once neutral. marbeh raglaim 22:49, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Natan Slifkin

I see you are also interested in Natan Slifkin. Please review these articles, because I have run up against an intransigent editor:

Perhaps you could also review the changes the same editor has made to Natan Slifkin. He does not come from the Jewish perspective, and he seems to be following me around and looking for ways to harass me. --Metzenberg 05:05, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for posting. I might take a look at the articles, but I must confess I'm a little burnt out from Wikipedia as a whole, so I'm being careful before committing myself to any task. marbeh raglaim 13:42, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
