Martin Vincent MARINI (Born Jan 17, 1960) is General Counsel at the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore[1]. He is married (since 1982) to Marjorie WEE Eng Hua, General Counsel at Neptune Orient Lines Limited[2], Singapore. They have 3 sons.


Education


1973 to 1976: GCE "0" Levels (St. Joseph's Institution)[3]

1977 to 1978: GCE "A" Levels (Catholic Junior College)[4]

1980 to 1984: Bachelor of Laws (Honours) (National University of Singapore)[5]

1978 to 1980: National Service in the Singapore Armed Forces[9]

1984 to 1991: Civil servant in the Administrative Service[10] of the Singapore Civil Service

Served at the Ministries of Defence[11] ('84/'85), Communications and Information ('85~'89) and also on secondment to the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC)[12] Research Unit ('89~'91)

1991 to 1993: Senior manager in a member company of Singapore Technologies Group of Companies

1993 to 1995: Senior manager at former state broadcaster Singapore Broadcasting Corporation

1996 to 1998: Partner at law firm Chan & Ravindran (Advocates & Solicitors)

1998 to 2005: Partner at law firm Yeo Marini & Partners (Advocates & Solicitors)

2005: Head of litigation at Goodwins Law Corporation[13], Singapore

2005: General counsel at the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore[14][15]

2006: Appointed as Commissioner of Oaths (Public Officer), Singapore


Community


  • Served as volunteer and committee member at SAFRA[16], the Law Society of Singapore[17] and the National University of Singapore Society[18] (still serving on Discipline Sub-committee).
  • Currently serving as volunteer legal counsel for the Singapore Press Club[19] and The Eurasian Association of Singapore[20].
