Gaulanitis Gaulantis was a region East of Galilee, Israel during Jesus' time. It was probably the land of the original Gauls who also lived in a region called Gaul, now known as France. The Gauls, or Galatians, also lived in Galatia in northeastern Asia Minor. Perhaps they moved west as a result of pressure from other people; this is what happened to the countries of Asia Minor. Apparently, the Galatians, in whole or part came from Gaulanitis, to northeastern Asia Minor, the corridor through which the Greeks and the Romans probably came, and west and west to Gaul, modern France.--Mark Brandon Harris 12:39, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
