I've just disassociated this Talk page from Talk:Mary Poppins (1964 film). Coyoty 02:15, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

Contents

[edit] help fast

What is the climax of the story?

Of the book or the film? If you're talking about the film, I'd probably say Mr. Bank's final confrontation with his employers when he finally learns the significance of the tuppence. 23skidoo 04:39, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Deleted sections

I had a problem with the edit summary on my recent edit, so in case anyone is wondering why I deleted the "Songs" and "See also" sections, they don't belong in this article anymore as there is now an article about the movie Mary Poppins (film). The word Super...etc.etc.... was created for the movie and does not originate from the Travers books, so it should be linked from the film article only. 23skidoo 16:39, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Less film, more Travers

I love the film, but as it already has its own article, I think the "Mary Poppins" article needs to be less oriented towards film specific details and more towards the Travers character and things that can be said for all versions of the character. -- Infrogmation 03:10, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

There's also the racism controversy, which seems to be completely ignored... AnonMoos 22:04, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
What racism controversy? Was it any more racist than other works of the time period? Not everyone has any idea what you're talking about -- please think about at least a brief writeup. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 76.210.250.10 (talk) 22:36, 15 January 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Dates

The date of the first attempt by Disney to buy the rights was listed as 1931 - before the first book was published. I've corrected this to 1938, as per the article on the Disney movie.KaminoNeko 18:37, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Split Page

I think this page should be split so to clearly differentiate between the Mary Poppins character and the Mary Poppins books. If this is okay with everyone, I'll create a separate page and disambiguation page. -- Annie D 04:44, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Soviet film "Goodbye Mary Poppins"

There was a USSR TV Movie made, called "Mary Poppins, Do Svidaniya", which is very famous here in Russia. It's New Year's Eve, and I've already heard a song from the film on the TV, sung by different people, twice (it's called, as I understand it, "the Winds of Change"). Maybe someone who knows about it could write something. It's on IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0085932/. It's covered in Russian wikipedia: http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%9C%D1%8D%D1%80%D0%B8_%D0%9F%D0%BE%D0%BF%D0%BF%D0%B8%D0%BD%D1%81%2C_%D0%B4%D0%BE_%D1%81%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B0%D0%BD%D0%B8%D1%8F%21_%28%D1%84%D0%B8%D0%BB%D1%8C%D0%BC%29
