A query: how big is the Eastern Marsh Harrier as compared with the Western? The Swamp Harrier is a little larger than the Eastern.

I think I recovered from that edit conflict just now, and yes, I do plan to do a Swamp Harrier entry (but not tonight). Tannin

I haven't got anything that mentions spinolotus, apart from "Birds of India", which has it as a race of Marsh Harrier. jimfbleak
There is some web stuff that mentions it. I should imagine that the split was one of the DNA-DNA hybridisation ones. Sibley-Monroe checklist 8 lists it. No matter. I'll come back and see if this seems to need tidying up when I do Swamp Harrier Tannin 11:10 May 2, 2003 (UTC)
