why isn't the courtesy title Earl of Wycombe - surely that's the most senior Earldom as it's not Irish? Is it fear of being associated with High Wycombe?? Petsco 12:24, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
- Hard to be certain but probably because it is a longstanding title - remember the 1223 barony is also kerryAlci12 16:36, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
- Rayment's House of Commons page suggests that the 2nd Marquess used "Earl Wycombe" as a courtesy title. That precedes the inheritance of the Earldom of Kerry, of course. Choess 19:29, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
