Hi

the Oxford Companion to Chess gives his birth as 1815. Can we decide what it is?

The Chessbase player encyclopedia also says 1815, so I'll change it to that. "1814" may have just been a typo. If anybody has evidence showing that's wrong, then that's fine, we can always change it back. --Camembert
