[edit] Scud?

I was of the understanding that the nickname "The Scud" was made up to try to dissuade people from calling him "The Poo" due to Mark's objections to such a excremental nickname, yet this is not mentioned in the article.. Anonymous 21:32 AEDST

You sure, the Poo is only a recent nickname, popular around 2003. He's been known as the Scud all his career due to the sound it makes when he serves at 220-odd k/s an hour. Rogerthat 02:02, 14 January 2006 (UTC)

I can't find a reference, but he doesn't like the nick name "scud" either. It was a comparison to the Iraqi missiles used during the first gulf war and was a reference to the missiles' destructive although erratic nature. Mark's preferred nick name is "Flip". [edit] "fast women"

"...reported penchant for fast cars...and fast women"

Ok... that parallelism seems a bit forced. It gives me a different idea than what the author is possibly conveying. --Menchi 10:16, 30 Nov 2003 (UTC)

Somebody took "fast" out. --Menchi 04:39, 4 Dec 2003 (UTC)

I've done this so many times already so I'm not going to do it to this article, but can someone please re-order the events in decending order? Thanks. dave 03:53, 4 Dec 2003 (UTC)

[edit] We need a standard infobox for tennis players

We need a standard infobox for tennis players. Height does not fit into the text. It needs an infobox. --Hemanshu 04:51, 30 Jun 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Cleanup (tagged since January 2006)

I tagged this article for cleanup for two reasons:

  1. A lot of it is unencyclopedic (e.g. "Philippoussis' style of play is to hit every shot hard, and this accomplished by his amazing natural ability. Many players hit serves hard, but only Mark Philippoussis can hit a groundstroke at the same speed.")
  2. The statistics need formatting
