Maria doesn't claim Lubbock and Lubbock doesn't claim Maria. I personally have nothing against her, but I once read an article in Texas Monthly entitled something like Maria Elena vs. Lubbock that made this fact abundantly clear. She lived in Lubbock so briefly that she is no more a Lubbockite than I am a San Diegan since I went to Navy Boot Camp there. H2O 05:52, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
