Maria was not a daughter of an emperor, and thus should not have the style "Imperial Highness". She was a Royal Highness.

What? That doesn't affect her imperial status.

If she had "imperial status" she lost it when she married. Especially marrying below her rank. --StanZegel (talk) 04:37, 4 January 2006 (UTC)

Do you know anything about how stuff like that works? "marrying below her rank, lost on marriage", WHAT?. Yanksta x 17:29, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

This article says Alphonso's 1st wife, Maria de las Mercedes, died four years after their marriage in 1878 -- which is impossible if Alphonso married Maria Christina in 1879. Alphonso's article says his 1st wife died less than 6 months after the marriage. Anyone? --Michael K. Smith 03:09, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
