WP Former Countries - Things to do:
Open tasks for WikiProject Former countries Edit
- Correct links: Correct any wikilinks that you find anywhere on Wikipedia where the link is to the wrong version of the state. Some examples of bad links:
- Referring to the former Free City of Lübeck (an independent entity for 711 years), but the link goes to the modern city of Lübeck.
- Referring to Napoleon's France, where the link instead goes to modern France.
- Create redirects: If the article for the correct state does not yet exist, create a redirect to the nearest existing article (if possible) and place {{WPFC|class=Needed}} on the redirect's talk page. Whether or not a redirect has been created, list the wanted article below under "Needed".
Article improvement
After performing any of these tasks, re-rate the entry via the WPFC banner, and remove the article from the relevant list.
- Expand: Confederation of the Rhine, Straits Settlements, Belgian Congo, Free City of Lübeck, Kingdom of Ireland, North German Confederation, Spanish East Indies
- Stubs: Adamawa Emirate, Baranya-Baja Republic, Kingdom of Redonda, Piratini Republic, United States of Colombia
- Needed: Kingdom of Bavaria
- Assess: Anjouan, Austrian Empire, German East Africa, Orange Free State
Articles requiring particular elements
After providing the requested element, please remove the relevant tag from the article's WPFC banner and remove the article from this list.

[edit] Geography
I can't really tell whether the elevation (Bodenerhebung) is called by the proper name "Platte" or whether this is just the author's description of this particular geographic feature. Probably it's a description, as evidenced by the "auf dieser Platte" later. I can't google any non-Wikipedia mirrors for much mentioning of "Spreeplatte". I think I would try to rewrite this section from scratch if you can find sources for it, might be easier than imagining what is meant (it's hard for me without a map). Sorry to be of so little help, Kusma (討論) 23:09, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- I don't know why I'm talking about the parts you haven't translated yet. Whatever. I think the de:Baltischer Landrücken story is slightly different, but the explanation is almost impossible to understand without a good map. I think it says that only an insignificant part of the Baltic land ridge (which is the land ridge to the north of Bbg) extends into Brandenburg, perhaps (?) the part that belongs to the de:Mecklenburgische Seenplatte. I don't get why the two ridges define the area, yet the northern one is insignificant. Perhaps I should go to bed. Kusma (討論) 23:20, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

- Thanks for looking into it, Kusma. If you think the geography section is not informative in its current form, feel free to remove it until someone can clarify the terminology. Olessi 02:53, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Small Edit
The leader of Brandenburg-Prussia was originally known as the King 'in' Prussia, since there could not be a kingship in the Holy Roman Empire. Since Prussia fell outside the HRE, he could be a king there but not in Brandenburg. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 139.139.33.12 (talk) 15:05, 29 January 2007 (UTC).
