Maryam Moshiri is a journalist and newsreader at BBC News. She is a regular presenter of the Business News on BBC News 24, and is also a weekend presenter on BBC World News. Maryam's sister, Nazanine Moshiri, is a London based prsenter and correspondent with Al Jazeera English having previously been a newsreader and reporter on ITV's London Tonight and the ITV Morning News

Both Maryam and Nazanine were born in Tehran, and came to London with their parents before the Iranian Revolution.
