Mary Werbelo
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mary Werbelow is considered to be Jim Morrison's first love and the inspiration behind such songs as "The End" and "The Crystal Ship". She met Morrison on Clearwater Beach, Florida during the summer of 1962. Mary was going to be a high school senior, Morrison was starting his freshman year at St. Petersburg Junior College. When Morrison moved out to L.A. in January 1965, Werbelo moved out to be with him. Morrison was drinking heavily and experimenting with psychedelic drugs when Mary broke up with him in the summer of 1965. A few months later Morrison met Ray Manzarek and would go on to form The Doors.
The End
This is the end, Beautiful friend
This is the end, My only friend, the end
Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I'll never look into your eyes...again
...
This is the end, Beautiful friend
This is the end, My only friend, the end
It hurts to set you free
But you'll never follow me
The end of laughter and soft lies
The end of nights we tried to die
This is the end
