Mary Lucia

Mary Lucia (born August 6, 1969 in Newton, Massachusetts) is a disc jockey who currently works for the Minnesota Public Radio station KCMP 89.3 FM during weekday evening drive time.
After a brief career as a waitress at the south Minneapolis cool spot, the Malt Shop, Lucia began broadcasting on Minnesota's Rev 105, where she hosted both a shift of regular programming and the local music show 'Something Else' (named after a song by local band Kruddler).
After Disney purchased Rev 105 and switched its format to Zone 105, Mary Lucia maintained her dual role as host of a regular dayshift as well as a local show called 'Popular Creeps' (named after a song by former Replacements drummer Chris Mars). After Steve Nelson left the morning show that he co-hosted with Brian Oake, Lucia was paired with Oake for morning drive time.
When Disney changed the format again to rhythmic oldies, the entire air staff was fired. Lucia went on to host programs on AM 1500 and KLBB before being picked up by Minnesota Public Radio in January 2005.
Lucia, the sister of Paul Westerberg, writes for local magazine The Rake, appears in local theatrical productions, has won Minnesota Music Awards, and has been inducted into the Pavek Museum of Broadcasting Hall of Fame.
