Mary Anne of Austria

Mary Anne of Austria (September 7, 1683 ,Linz - August 14, 1754, Lisbon) Archduchess of Austria and Queen consort of Portugal.
She was born Maria Anna Josepha, the daughter of Leopold I, Holy Roman Emperor and Eleonore-Magdalena of Pfalz-Neuburg. Mary Anne was sister of the emperors Joseph I and Charles VI.
On October 27, 1708 she married John V of Portugal and became thus Queen consort of Portugal.
She was mother of seven children , amongst whom were the future kings Joseph I of Portugal and Peter III of Portugal and Barbara of Portugal, Queen consort of Ferdinand VI of Spain.
In 1742 Mary Anne took over power after John V suffered a stroke, which left him partially paralysed . When John V died on July 31, 1750 she gave the power to her eldest son Joseph I of Portugal.
After her death, she was buried in Lisbon, but her heart was brought to Vienna and buried there in the imperial crypt.
