Marvin Maurice Jones (born June 18, 1972) is a former NFL American football player for the New York Jets. Jones played middle linebacker for the Jets from 1993-2003 and recorded a career high 135 tackles in 2000. Jones was drafted in the first round with the 4th overall pick out of FSU in 1993. Jones signed a one-day contract along with Mo Lewis with the Jets to retire following the 2004 season.
Nicknamed "Shade Tree" Jones was named a first team All-Pro in 2000.[1] In that same year his alma mater Florida State inducted him into their Hall of Fame.[2] Jones finished his career with 1200 tackles, the third highest total in Jets history.[3]
