Maruko, Nagano

Maruko (丸子町; -machi) is a town located in Chiisagata District, Nagano, Japan.

As of 2003, the town has an estimated population of 25,050 and a density of 236.99 persons per km². The total area is 105.70 km². Maruko-machi/town is home to several hot-springs, the most famous being Kakeyu Onsen.

On March 6th, 2006, Maruko-machi was officially incorporated into neighbouring city of Ueda, along with Sanada, Takeshi, and the ex-city of Ueda, and no longer formally exists after 94 years.
