Marty Saybrooke

Margaret "Marty" Saybrooke Moody Thornhart, originally played by Susan Haskell, is a fictional character on the soap opera One Life To Live. Marty was the scion of one of Llanview's oldest and most prestigious families. Orphaned at an early age, Marty grew up alone in her family's mansion and was the sole heiress to her parent's fortune. Marty grew up to be a troubled young woman who resorted to binge-drinking to garner attention. She has had a brief history with Todd Manning. Todd had a one night stand with her, but she rejected him the next day. Todd still pursued her, but Marty did not give in to his advances. When Marty got drunk at a party, she was gang raped by Todd and two of his fraternity brothers, Zach Rosen and Powell Lord III. Marty eventually reported the rape and Todd was arrested along with Zach, Powell, and Kevin Buchanan (whom Marty mistakenly believed had also raped her). Placed on trial, Todd hired Nora Gannon to defend him. Nora believed in the innocence of Todd and the others, and was clearly winning the trial. Then another woman, Carol Swift, revealed that Todd had raped her as well. Disgusted, Nora intentionally caused a mistrial.

A furious Todd declared revenge on Marty. He cornered Marty and Luna Moody in an alley and threatened to rape both of them. Luna fought back and scarred Todd's face. Powell witnessed the incident and told the police. In addition, Marty managed to trick Todd into confessing to the rape, which she tape recorded. Todd was sent to jail, determined to get revenge on Marty, Nora and Powell (whom Todd would learn years later was his biological cousin).

After Todd learnt he was the Lord heir and was exonerated from the rape conviction, he and Marty attempted to gain some closure. Todd encouraged Marty to confront her Aunt Kiki, who was her guardian. Kiki, a society friend of Dorian's, had been raiding Marty's immense trust fund to finance her jet-set lifestyle. Marty flew to Ireland where her aunt was staying and succeeded in severing ties with her. However, back in Llanview, a young AIDs patient whom Marty had cared for was dying. Todd flew to Ireland and lent Marty his private jet to fly back while he helped her Irish boyfriend escape some thugs. Todd was allegedly killed during this and Blair harbored great resentment toward Marty for this.

Marty returned to Llanview, PA on November 17, 2006 (now played by Christina Chambers), as Cole Thornhart's mother.
