Marton Joób

Marton Joób (born 24 June 1982 in Szeged) is an athlete from Hungary. He competes in flatwater canoeing.

Joób was a junior world champion in 1999 as a member of Hungary's four-man Canadian canoe (C4) 1000m crew at Zagreb, Croatia.

In 2003 he won his first major title as a senior, again in the C-4 100m, at the World Championships in Gainesville, USA.

At the 2004 Olympics Joób competed in the C1 500m. He placed fourth in his initial heat of the 500 metre with a time of 1:51.025, qualifying for the semifinals. In the semifinal, he finished second with a time of 1:50.813, advancing to the final. There, Joób finished in 1:48.195, placing seventh.

In 2006 he specialised in the C4 200m, the shortest race distance, winning a silver medal at the European Championships, held in Račice, Czech Republic. The same crew of Sarudi / Joób / Horváth / Balázs went on to win the world championship bronze medal in Joob's home town of Szeged.

Joób is a member of the Démász-Szeged club.
