Martin Winterkorn

Martin Winterkorn (born May 24, 1947) is the chairman of Volkswagen AG. He suuceeded Bernd Pischetsrieder as chairman on January 1, 2007. Prior to that, he had been the CEO of Volkswagen's Audi brand.
In the nineties, Winterkorn was Volkswagen's board member in charge of technical development and was instrumental in getting Volkswagen CEO Ferdinand Piech to approve the production of the New Beetle. He later served as Piech's corporate executive director of development.
