Martin Stanford
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Martin Stanford is a long standing presenter at Sky News who has proven to be popular[citation needed] with viewers because of his down-to-earth style[citation needed]. Stanford currently presents the morning 'shift' of Sky News Today between 9am and 12pm alongside Anna Jones.
This style and appearance meant Stanford rose to fame and gained great popularity amongst channel regulars during 2002 with the launch of Sky News Today which aimed to give the news in an informal and interactive environment. Stanford now has his own 2hr weekend slot; Saturday Live (10am-12), a magazine style program which is broken up into different segments. Regular news up-dates are also included into the schedule. Since its launch in October 2005, this has been a big ratings gain for sky, following the many requests for the return of 'Technofile', after it was previously dropped by the channel in 2001. Between July 2006, and February 2007, Stanford had his own interactive show on the channel, Sky News with Martin Stanford, however this was cancelled in February 2007.
