Martin Maher

Martin "Marty" Maher (1876 - 1961)was an Irish immigrant from County Tipperary, who joined the United States Army and rose to the rank of master sergeant. He served as a revered and beloved athletic instructor at the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York, and was featured as the central character in the film "The Long Gray Line." [1] starring Tyrone Power and Maureen O'Hara. Maher is buried at West Point
