Martin Knudsen (born January 4, 1978 in Bergen) is a loyal footballer from Stavanger. After transferring to Brann in 2000, Martin Knudsen have played over 100 league matches for the club. He's got silver and bronze medals from the Norwegian Tippeligaen and played one of his best matches in his career when Brann won the 2004 cup final against F.C. Lyn Oslo. Knudsen can play on many different positions on the pitch, and after Mons Ivar Mjelde became the head coach in 2003, it seems to be a spot on the team for Knudsen in every match. He's known for his quality on the pitch to vary from match to match.

At the end of November, Brann was approached by Molde F.K., Sandefjord Fotball and Tromsø I.L., who all wanted to sign Knudsen. Molde later withdrawed their offer, when they couldn't offer Knudsen the salary he wanted. On December 5, Knudsen agreed to Tromsø's offer, and will play in Nordens Paris from January 2007. Knudsen had two year remaining on his contract, and the transfer-fee is between 500.000 and 1.000.000 NOK. [1] Knudsen played 176 official matches for SK Brann, scoring 13 goals.
