Martin Franzmann

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Martin H Franzmann (1907-1976) was an eminent theologian of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod at Concordia Seminary in St Louis. He was notable for his traditional stance on Biblical inerrany and inspiration over against historical criticism well before the walkout that led to the Seminex crisis. However, his role in this often overshadows his other scholarly works, such as Sex and the Church and a commentary on Romans. He was also the author of the popular hymn, Thy Strong Word.
