Martin Baynton

Martin Baynton is a British children's writer and illustrator of children's books, currently living in New Zealand. He has had over thirty titles published with publishers including Walker Books, Penguin, Random House, and Scholastic.

Baynton has been a writer and illustrator since 1980. He is the writer of the Jane And The Dragon series which is now a TV animation series produced by Weta Productions, the New Zealand company that made the films Lord Of The Rings and King Kong. Baynton is the executive producer of this series.

Baynton has also written for various film and television series. He has acted in TV shows including Herculese and Shortland Street. In addition, he has written several stage plays including Performance Anxiety and No Bits For Tilly., and wrote, produced and directed the Fifty The Tractor animated program based on his own best-selling books.

Baynton, with his wife Diane, has two children, Theo and Terri.
