Martínez, often spelled without the accent on the "i" in English, is a common surname in the Spanish language. It was originally a Patronymic, meaning Son of Martín (English: Martin). Its Portuguese equivalent is Martins. It is a name associated with a great number of different people: See List of people by name: Martinez.
