Marszałkowska

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Marszałkowska (lit. Marshal's Street) is the main street of Warsaw's city centre. It links the area of plac Bankowy in the northern part of it with the plac Zbawiciela in the southern end of the city centre. Contrary to a common urban legend attributing the name to Marshal of Poland Józef Piłsudski, the street is much older and was named after Franciszek Bieliński, a Grand Marshal of the Crown.
