Markus Esser

Markus Esser (born February 3, 1980, Leverkusen) is a German hammer thrower.

He finished fourth in the hammer final at the 2005 World Championships in Athletics in Helsinki and the 2006 European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg. He also competed in both the 2000 Olympics and the 2004 Olympics.

His personal best is 81.10 metres, achieved in July 2006 in Leverkusen. This ranks him eighth among German hammer throwers, behind Ralf Haber, Heinz Weis, Karsten Kobs, Günter Rodehau, Holger Klose, Christoph Sahner and Klaus Ploghaus. [1]
