Marks (Russian: Маркс) is a town in Saratov Oblast, Russia, located 60 km north-east of Saratov. Population: 32,849 (2002 Census).
The town was founded in 1767 as a German colony Baronsk. It was soon renamed Yekaterinenshtadt, after Catherine II. In 1918, it was granted town status and in 1920 it was renamed Marksshtadt after Karl Marx. In 1941, during the cleansing of German names, the town was renamed Marks.
