His biggest victory since turning professional in 1996 was at The Honda Classic in March 2007, where he triumphed in a fourway play-off. Wilson won the tournament on the fourth extra hole after being tied with Jose Coceres, Camilo Villegas and Boo Weekley at 5 under par.

This victory lifted Wilson into the top 100 of the Official World Golf Rankings.[1] Prior to this victory he had yo-yoed between the PGA and Nationwide Tours. Wilson also had three victories on the third-tier NGA Hooters Tour between 1998 and 2001.
