Mark Whitaker

Mark Whitaker (born c. 1950s) is Vice President and Editor-in-Chief of New Ventures of Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive (WPNI), the digital division of the Washington Post Company. In role, Whitaker is in charge of developing a range of new Washington Post Company Web sites. Whitaker also serves as Corporate Editor of Newsweek.
Whitaker was editor of Newsweek magazine since November 1998 until he was succeeded by Jon Meacham in September 2006.
Whitaker's association with Newsweek began in 1977 as a reporting intern in the San Francisco bureau. He joined the magazine fulltime in 1981 in New York.
