Mark Pender

Mark Pender (born Kansas City, Missouri, August 18, 1957) is a trumpet player and vocalist best known for his work with Southside Johnny, Little Steven and Bruce Springsteen. Since 1993 he has played on Late Night With Conan O'Brien as a member of The Max Weinberg 7. He is also a member of The Miami Horns, leads his own band, The Mark Pender Band, and plays regularly with La Bamba & The Hubcaps.

On Late Night, Pender is well known for singing soft ballads, usually about celebrities, then getting really excited, and climbing into the crowd while screaming the lyrics. The outcome is always Conan yelling at Pender to stop, and telling him he should be ashamed of himself. Conan also constantly makes jokes at Pender's expense, such as looking at hornymanatee.com and wearing a red speedo. Pender's nickname is "Love Man".
