Career Highlights

Mark Nicoski (born November 24, 1983) is a professional Australian rules footballer who plays for the West Coast Eagles in the Australian Football League. He will wear the number 6 gurnsey as of the start of the 2007 AFL season, after wearing number 31 throughout his early career with the Eagles.

In 2004 he suffered a shoulder injury which proved a setback after being recruited to the Eagles after a WAFL rookie of the year performance in 2003.

[edit] 2005 season

In 2005 Nicoski became a damaging midfield and forward player, using his pace to trouble opponents. He enjoyed a solid 2005 AFL Finals Series and at 22 years of age looks to be another of the Eagles' players of the future.

He has become known as "The Surgeon" to his many fans, due to his smooth operation and surgically precise disposal of the football.

[edit] 2006 Season

With many Eagles players being rotated in and out of the forward line due to the loss of Phillip Matera, Nicoski was thrown in as a half-back, where he continues to shine with his quickness on and off the back and his booming left kick. Although he had recovered from an injury, Nicoski was unlucky to miss out in the 2006 Grand Final, won by his team the West Coast Eagles.
