Dennis Mark Malaska (born January 17, 1978 in Youngstown, Ohio) is a relief pitcher in Major League Baseball who has played for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays since 2006. He was previously associated with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays (2003), and Boston Red Sox (2004-2005). Malaska bats and throws left-handed.
Malaska was born in Youngstown, Ohio, a former center of steel production located near the Pennsylvania border. After attending the University of Akron, he made his debut with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in 2003. Malaska received a World Series Championship ring as a member of the 2004 Boston Red Sox.
In a two-season career, Malaska has compiled a 3-2 record with 29 strikeouts and a 3.75 ERA in 36 innings. He retired from baseball during spring training of 2006 and secured a sales position at a Rhode Island BMW dealership.
