Mark Kumpel

Mark Alan Kumpel (born March 7, 1961 in Wakefield, Massachusetts) is a former American ice hockey player.

Selected by the Quebec Nordiques in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft, Kumpel also played for the Detroit Red Wings and Winnipeg Jets.

After his playing career, Kumpel moved into coaching, including a tenure as coach/assistant coach with the Portland Pirates from 1998 to 2004. Most recently, he was head coach of the Port Huron Beacons during the 2004-05 season.
