Mark Dyne



Mark Dyne is a merchant banker based in Los Angeles. He is the Chairman and CEO of Europlay Capital Advisors. His career as a merchant banker dates back to around the year 2000 and prior to that he was a well known figure in the video games industry.

He was a pioneer and visionary in the early 80's of where the video game industry was headed and became well known for locking up exclusive rights to some of the worlds largest video game publishers for foreign rights, including Sierra, Activision,codemasters, Infogrames, Atari, Electronic Arts amongst others.

He was one of the founders of Ozisoft and subsequent to that Sega Ozisoft and later went on to become the CEO of Sega Gaming Technologies. He was the principal behind the aquisistion of Virgin Interactive from Spelling Entertainment, part of the Viacom Group. He was made CEO of Virgin Interactive. He also served as Chairman of Brilliant Digital Entertainment, which was spun out of Sega Ozisoft.

He obtained the foreign rights to the game Doom 2, which created an empire in itself. He is well respected for becoming the saviour of the game "The Matrix" which appeared doomed with numerous parties claiming rights. The developer of the game, Shiny Entertainment, had become a subsidiary of Interplay which was considered insolvent and he stepped in and saved the game, into which over $15 million had been sunk by renegotiating all of the companies deals and selling Shiny Entertainment to Infogrames for a reported $55 million which then published the game, becoming one of the best selling games in its day.

He is a member of the board of Skype, together with Janus Friis and Niklas Zennstrom. He is a member of the Board of Synthean, and is a personal investor in many ventures, particularly in high growth Internet ventures. He is reknown for his negotiating skills and as a personal confidant to many well regarded and powerful entrepreneurs.
