Mark Dice
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mark Dice, formerly known by the pseudonym John Conner, is the author of a book titled, The Resistance Manifesto and the self proclaimed founder of a resistance movement he calls 'The Resistance' (also called the Resistance for Christ or the Christian Resistance) which claims to be a world wide movement "fighting the New World Order." Mark and others who support 'The Resistance' believe that a network of secret societies (the Illuminati, Freemasons, Skull and Bones, Bohemian Grove, etc) controls the world, orchestrated the September 11th attacks as a pretext for the War on Terror and the Iraq War, and secretly worship Lucifer. Such beliefs are fairly common for right wing conspiracy theorists and militias. Despite mixing what most would call conspiracy theories with Bible prophecy, Dice's attention getting antics have been covered by a variety of mainstream media outlets around the world.
[edit] Dropping the pseudonym John Conner
In early March of 2007, "John Conner's" website displayed a message explaining he was dropping his pseudonym saying, "Frankly, I’m just sick of being called John when my name is Mark." Some people suspected that John Conner was a pseudonym named after John Connor in the Terminator films who was the leader of the resistance against the machines. Dice clarified in his statement "what I’m trying to do here is much more serious than what is depicted in a Schwarzenegger film."
[edit] Danny Bonaduce Incident
Dice has recently gained national media attention for ambushing Danny Bonaduce during his meal on Hollywood Boulevard by asking him on camera if he thought 9/11 was an inside job, causing Bonaduce to freak out in a profanity-filled tirade, which was covered on the O’Reilly Factor, [1] CNN's Showbiz Tonight, and the New York Daily News.[2] The video had gained over 200,000 views on YouTube within a few days of being posted, becoming one of the most viewed clips of the week.[3]
[edit] Girls of ABC's 'The View' Crazy About Conner [Dice]
Christine Ebersole was guest hosting on ABC’s The View Friday February 9th 2007 when she was talking about being addicted to YouTube when she gushed, “Oh my God, I am like so crazy about this guy [John Conner, Mark Dice].” [4] Rosie O'Donnell enthusiastically interrupted and explained Mark Dice (John Conner at the time) travels around the country to college campuses and unexpectedly crashes huge lecture halls to give away DVDs of 9/11 conspiracy films and shout at the students with a megaphone, and uploads the video to YouTube.
Ebersole later went on Mark's radio show, Resistance Radio, and said she believes 9/11 was an inside job.[5]
[edit] Daniel Sunjata Interview
Easter Sunday on Mark's radio show he interviewed Daniel Sunjata, co-star of 'Rescue Me' on FX. Sunjata said straight up, “9/11 was an inside job. It’s what I think. It’s what I know. I don’t know how to just beat around the bush when it comes to an issue of such grave importance.”
Sunjata said the evidence proving the 9/11 attacks were an inside job is overwhelming saying, “The smoking guns are literally blocking out the light of the sun at this point, it’s almost like a big ball of tangled threads and if you grab any loose end it’s going to lead you to the same conclusion. Whether you’re looking at the blocked investigations, whether your looking at the physical inconsistencies in terms of what they say caused the collapse verses all of the other reports of secondary explosions, molten metal found in the wreckage of buildings one, two and seven…an hour and 45 minutes almost in air of flight 77 and absolutely no intercepts…it’s beyond irrefutable at this point.”
[edit] Jessica Simpson Controversy
While Mark Dice has received international press for various issues, the most well known being his protest against Jessica Simpson's music video, 'These Boots Are Made For Walking' saying in publications from the New York Post[6] to the Pakistan Daily News,[7][8][9] "She should be ashamed of herself... It's disappointing to have Jessica, a pastor's daughter and Christian role model, join the ranks of the 'singing strippers' such as Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera....She has one of the most beautiful voices, and is a very beautiful girl, but it's sad to see her whore herself out like this. What's worse is that pastor Joe Simpson is Jessica's manager, as well as her father."
Dice also criticized the new lyrics of the song, and drew comparisons to Paris Hilton, in addition to giving advice to Simpson's sister, Ashlee Simpson. "She took a classic like the Dukes of Hazard, and Daisy Duke, and turned her into a slutty, stripper with a fetish for old men....Also, in the lyrics Jessica makes a reference to "These double - D's" as she grabs her breast, and says "can get a hand clap for the way I work my back" as she shakes her butt. Simpson added them to ensure the sluttyness of the video. At the end of the video she prances around in a bikini while washing the General Lee, just like the recent Paris Hilton Carl's Jr. commercial which received much criticism for being too raunchy...I hope Ashlee doesn't follow suit and sell out her self-respect later in her career."
The Resistance demanded Simpson to issue an apology for offending the Christian community, and to reshoot a new "cleaner" music video for the song. Simpson refused to negotiate with The Resistance and to comply with their demands. She then issued a public statement, in which she announced, "It didn't really surprise me because I grew up with a lot of that backlash. That's why I didn't end up going into the Christian music industry. I think that if they're really good Christians the judgment wouldn't be there."[10]
[edit] Duke University Protest
In 2007, Mark protested Duke University and demanding the school change the name of their sports team, the Blue Devils, to something not offensive to the Christian community. "Numerous college sports teams have faced opposition in the past for using ethnic names which were offensive to segments of the community, and this is no different,” explained Mark. “If the team were named the Blue Nazis would that be ok? There would be outrage across the country, yet naming a team after the Devil is ok?”[11]
[edit] Videos
Mark Dice has produced a series of videos which range from mere antics and rhetoric to extremely creative and quite heartwarming. The primary theme of Mark's work is crashing college campuses to inform students of his theories regarding 9/11, often handing out free dvds of 9/11 conspiracy films. He produced a unique and touching documentary titled A Homeless Christmas in which he picks up an unsuspecting homeless person on a freezing December day to deliver a unique Christmas gift including a prepaid cellphone, a warm meal, and a glimpse of hope.[12]
[edit] VeriChip Boycott
Mark Dice has been promoting a boycott of the VeriChip, the implantable RFID tag which remains the focus of privacy concerns for many.[13] [14][15]The Resistance Manifesto equates VeriChip with "the mark of the beast," which the Bible's book of Revelation describes as a demonic numbering system for people who will be under the power of the antichrist.
(Rev. 13:15-18) in the Bible states, "And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name...and his number is Six hundred & sixty-six" leading many fundamental Christians to believe that the VeriChip and RFID will replace traditional forms of identification and will evolve into the so called "mark of the beast."[16]
[edit] Calling for Removal of the Georgia Guidestones
Mark Dice has called for the Georgia Guidestones to be removed from public property saying they are an occult monument and the New World Order's 10 Commandments.[17] "The Satanists, Occultists, and Atheists are trying to remove Christian monuments from public property, so I'm going to remove their monuments from public property." He believes the name "R.C. Christian" is actually a reference to Christian Rosenkreuz, the supposed founder of the Rosicrucians, a secret society dating back to the 15th century.[18]
[edit] Calling Radio Talk Shows
Saying the airwaves belong to the public, Mark Dice habitually calls into radio talk shows in attempts to spread his message that America is being sold out to create a New World Order, and that we are living in the End Days. Often he gets cut off mid sentence, not for saying anything obscene, but because the topics he brings up aren't well received by the mainstream media and are not considered newsworthy by the host. Many talk shows seem to acknowledge Mark as a pseudo celebrity and one can listen to various recordings of his phone calls on his website. Alan Colmes, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, Larry King Live and others have been contacted numerous times, regarding a variety of subjects.
[edit] Patriot Radio
Patriot and underground radio have received Mark's message seemingly without skepticism and he has made the rounds on most of the well known so called Patriot Radio shows such as the Alex Jones Show, Deadline Live with Jack Blood, Coast to Coast AM,[19] and some mainstream outlets as well. MSNBC, Fox News, KABC, the Mike Walker Show[20] and others have also featured Dice. Since January 2007, Mark has hosted Resistance Radio on the Genesis Communications Network.
