* Appearances (Goals)

Mark Boyd is an English footballer currently playing for Southport. He joined the club at the start of the 2006/7 season, following Paul Cook - his coach at Accrington and briefly Southport manager. Although his Southport career began disappointingly with a missed penalty in the team's first game of the season, Mark has settled in well at the club and is beginning to silence the doubters who would maybe prefer a more "all action" player in the team. As club captain, "Boydy" has developed a reputation as an excellent passer of the ball with an excellent first touch. However there has been questions about his fitness and weight, which has hindered his obvious quality. His performances for the 'Port' have differed from superb to not very nice. His highlight of the season so far has been his wonder-goal away at Burton Albion, some supporters saying it is one of the best goals they have ever seen.
