Markéta Irglová

Markéta Irglová is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and actor from the Czech Republic. Markéta was born in Moravia in 1988 and is a current resident of Prague in the Czech Republic. 'She began playing music at the age of seven, when she was bought a piano by her parents and sent to lessons. When she was nine, her father bought her a guitar and she immediately began playing and learning songs by ear.[1]' She released an album The Swell Season with Glen Hansard in 2006 after they had first met each other when Hansard was visiting Prague.[2]
She stars in the movie Once with Glen Hansard, which is directed by John Carney. The movie won the World Cinema Audience Award for a dramatic film at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival.[3]
