Marisa Ramirez
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Marisa Carolina Ramirez (born September 15, 1977 in Los Angeles, California) is an American actress.
Her career began at age 13 when she was brought to the attention of a major L.A. modelling agency and begun acting in commercials.
Ramirez is possibly best known for her roles in daytime soap operas. After several guest appearances on Days of our Lives and The Bold and the Beautiful, Ramirez finally got her big break in July 2000, when she was cast in the contract role of supermodel Gia Campbell on General Hospital. She left this role in December 2002 to star in the short-lived ABC drama, Miracles.
During her time on GH, she was nominated for ALMA and NAACP Awards.
In April 2006, she joined the cast of The Young and the Restless as Jabot Cosmetics public relations consultant Carmen Mesta, but was let go from the role after only five months amid rumours that the reason for this was because she was too young for the part and lacked chemistry with her older male co-stars (these rumors were denied by Y&R head writer/executive producer Lynn Marie Latham). She rejoined the show in early 2007 as Carmen's cousin, Ines Vargas. She is of Mexican, Irish and American Indian descent.
