Mario series

The Mario Series is a series of videogames with over 200 games and is the longest and best selling series. The series is about Nintendo's mascot, Mario. The series has various spin-offs from the Mario Party Series to the Mario Sports Series.

- Mario - Main Character of the Series.
- Luigi - Mario's partner is various games.
- Princess Peach - Usually the princess Mario has to save.
- King Bowser - Main villain.
- Toad - Helper of Mario and sometimes called Sidekick.
- Yoshi - Dinosaur that usually helps Mario.
- Wario - Mario's arch-rival
- Donkey Kong - Mario's first enemy
[edit] Story of the Series
The usual storyline of the games is a fat italian plumber with an italian accent (Mario) and saving a princess from the King of the Koopas, Bowser. Bowser is in love with the princess and kidnaps Princess Peach so he can marry her. The main location of the series, the Mushroom Kingdom is worried about the princess and send Mario (and sometimes they send Luigi to go with Mario) to save the princess from the evil King Bowser Koopa.
However not all games follow the storyline-currently the games are getting new storylines such as in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga an evil witch named Cackletta stealing Peach's voice and escaping to the Beanbean Kingdom where Mario and Luigi go on an adventure to get it back.

Back when the series started and had a few games made, there was a Mario TV Series. However these series had many different shows-there was one based on Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. 2. Another one was based on Super Mario Bros. 3 and another one based on Super Mario World. The TV series then stopped.
Also back in the cartoon days there was also a live Super Mario Bros. Movie and it was kinda based on Super Mario Bros. There was also a Japan-only anime movie called Super Mario Bros. and the Great Mission to Save Princess Peach.
